Books

I recommend this book whole-heartedly for anyone wishing to develop flash games to use in the classroom. It is straight forward and explains everything clearly and in an interesting way. I first bought this book during my teacher training and still use it today - simply fantastic!

This is a great starting point for anyone wanting to learn Flash quickly! It may not take 24 hours to become a Flash master, but this book certainly shows you how to create simple yet effective resources fast.

flash for teachers, adobe flash tutorials, interactive diagrams, flash games, flash training, adobe, adobe flash training, interactive whiteboard, smartboard Although this may be more suitable the more advanced users of Adobe Flash it can be 'dipped into' by beginners. This is worth spending some cash on if you feel that Flash is something you will continue using. The author, Glen Rhodes has written several books on the topic and many other more general titles which also are worth exploring.

Flash 8 Bible is a fantastic book to have when you need to look up something up which is not covered by Flasheducation.net's tutorials or if you wish to take your Flash skills to the next level. This is a good book.

Many of the ideas you'll come across on this website has been modified using Thinking Skills and Eye-Q. This is perhaps the best book available on the subject of mind-maps and Thinking Skills. If you have a chance to attend one of their workshops you will not regret it as they are outstanding!

Websites

There are far too many sites to mention here so I have selected a short but, I feel, excellent list of sites that I use weekly.

This our secod site which provides useful tutorials and resources on how to use ICT more effectively in a standard classroom.

Kirupa is one of the key sites for developing your flash skills. However, it is also a fantastic resource for progressing with other software as well. This link takes you to the Forum and after registering (1-2 minutes) you gain access to hundreds of professional Flash designers that are available to assist you!

This is another great Flash forum but also a very useful site for tutorials and examples of excellent uses of Flash, just take a look at the Movies Section to get an idea of the sort of things you could do.

If you feel adventurous, why not visit Learn Flash.com ? It really does what it says on the tin - it teaches you how to use some of the most intricate features of Flash. Mind you, if you want to stick to the basics it'll show you that too! I love Learnflash.com

This is perhaps the biggest free Flash Tutorial site available on the World Wide Web. It not only provides you with brilliant step-by-step instructions of how to use Adobe Flash, it also houses an excellent Forum rivaling that of both Flashkit.com and Kirupa Forums! I think another bookmark is in order!

EfectiveICT.co.uk The Forum section of this in-depth ICT site is outstanding as it covers the whole range of IT-related resources and expertise ranging from VLEs to, yes you guessed it, using Flash!

Once subscribed (about £12/month) you gain access to over 17,000 video tutorials. This is a great resource and if you subscribe for a couple of months then you can view and download what you need.
